Jean Johnson

American clarinettist Jean enjoys a varied musical career that includes orchestral, chamber, and solo performances. She studied at the University of Massachusetts as a student of Michael Sussman, and then at Indiana University with Eli Eban and Alfred Prinz.

 

Associate Principal Clarinet of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra for several years, Jean moved to Britain in March of 2005, and now works regularly with all the major Scottish orchestras and others further afield. She has also worked with the Paragon Ensemble, Hebrides Ensemble and Mr. McFalls Chamber, as well as having given chamber music concerts in major venues across the globe, including the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels.
